Life

I was the sunshine that cradled your day
that tried to push the clouds away
I was the sand that ran between your toes
when you were four years old
that soon became the rain you danced in
from seven to eleven
And I watched you grow in the glow
of a moon that beamed
when you turned thirteen
How unfair you thought I'd become
when you turned twenty-one
because you lost a few dreams
But I stayed awake when you were out late
I was the stars 'till you turned twenty-eight
And when you found your love
"the one"
I was glimmer in the eye, the blue sky, the sun
Then you turned thirty-one
I became cloud, thunder and shower
there weren't enough minutes to put in your hour
You forgot how to dance in the rain
'till you turned forty all you did was complain
Then you took off your shoes
and went back to the sand
I was now the warmth of your child's hand
At forty-three
you spent more time with me
You began
to understand
And when you stood fifty years old
you stayed warm to me even though
at times I was cold
How close we grew
when you turned sixty-two
The breeze was I
that hung your grandchild's kite in the sky
And I'm sorry I made you sad
when I took "the one" away
But I was proud
when you pushed aside that cloud
and cradled 'me' in the sun
for the remainder of our day

Home Health Care vs Assisted Living

Home Health Care in Los Angeles

Home health care is health care that is provided to patients inside their home, and usually by either health care professionals or family and friends. The term home care suggests that the care provided is non-medical and more of a custodial nature, whereas home health care may suggest licensed staff members. The differences here are similar to the differences between assisted living facilities and nursing homes. Much like assisted living facilities, home health care lets seniors enjoy a good measure of independence. An elderly individual or couple will appreciate having privacy as well as assistance in daily living needs.

What Home Health Care Provides

What kind of services does home health care provide? Home health care may help seniors with daily living needs such as bathing, dressing, house keeping and cooking and dining preparation. Depending on the needs of the resident, there may be special provisions such as transportation services and errands, volunteer programs, exercise and walking, and toileting assistance. More extensive forms of home health care would also provide rehabilitation programs, including visits from physical therapists and nurses. Other qualified home health care professionals may include respiratory nurses, occupational nurses, social workers, mental health workers and physicians.

Who pays for home health care? This type of outside assisted living program can be paid by private resources from the resident or family, by public payers such as Medicare and Medicaid or by employer-sponsored health insurance plans. Medicare will usually not pay for home health care on a long term basis while Medicaid is more likely to help low-income families with little or no assets. Employer-sponsored home health care is likely to be on a short term basis unless the insurance plan is very generous. Most of the time home health care will be paid for by a family's own resources.

Comparing Home Health Care with Assisted Living

How does home health care compare with in-house stays at nursing homes and assisted living facilities? Most seniors would prefer home health care, of course, as people always do value their privacy. However, there are also circumstances that would necessitate constant supervision boardof the resident at an assisted living facility, and not only occasional visits. Home health care is basically assisted living, but with even more independence. Therefore a resident that cannot be left alone for long periods of time would be better suited in a nursing or board and care type home.

It might appear that home health care would be cheaper than a stay in a nursing home. However, home health care costs can be just as expensive, depending on the number of hours aides work. Some residents have admitted that full time home health care usually costs twice as much as a stay in a board and care or assisted living home. Most home health care agencies will charge about $20.00 an hour or over. If the resident is relatively independent then the fees associated with the service can be controlled. However, don't forget that if your needs are minimal to begin with, you could hire a trusted individual to perform the same tasks and save money from paying an agency fee.

Home health care is ideal for seniors who feel well and can easily get around but who need occasional doctor visits and help with housekeeping. It is also a preferable choice if a senior needs full time care but does not want to become a resident in a public nursing home. Full time home health care provides the most privacy and personal attention possible. If you are looking for this type of senior assistance, you should always be mindful of the qualifications of workers, as opening one's home to a stranger could always be a security risk. The best home health care agencies have screened workers who are well qualified in their field.

How to Deal With a Cancer Diagnosis

My name is Zo Routh, I am the Head Coach at Inner Compass. I am also a cancer survivor. I was diagnosed in March 2005, and it is now nearly two years since I underwent treatment.

As I was getting good test results last week - my CAT scan was all clear I received emails from two friends. One was also diagnosed with cervical cancer with additional tumours in her ovaries. She is having her tubes and ovaries removed and being scheduled for radiation and chemotherapy treatment. My other friend let me know her mother has been diagnosed with cancer on her gall bladder that has spread to her liver and intestines. She is undergoing surgery at this moment.

What struck me was that even though I am out of the woods with my own cancer and feel fit and healthy, others are just starting their journey. I realised what I went through and what I learned might be of use to others.

If you have been diagnosed with cancer recently, or have a loved one who has, then this article is for you.

My story

I was diagnosed in March 2005 with cervical cancer, just 4 days after getting engaged. The treatment recommended initially was a full hysterectomy. Luckily there was a new surgery called a radical trachelectomy available to younger women who wanted to maintain fertility. This involved the removal of the cervix, but left the uterus and ovaries most of the reproductive equipment. Of the 100 or so women who have had the surgery about 70% were able to conceive and deliver, through caesarean section. So baby-making is still possible for me, though I am not yet out of the 2 year clearing time the doctor recommended.

After surgery they discovered additional tumours in the lymph nodes they removed. The doctors recommended four courses of chemotherapy, cysplatin to be precise, just to be sure that they knock any remaining cancer on its head. Cysplatin is a pretty heavy drug, and had some serious effects I felt nauseous and horrible for a good ten days after each round. My last treatment was on August 8th 2005. I ran a marathon 7 months later. This sounds surreal to me now, but at the time, running a marathon was exactly what I needed for a new focus on living and life.

However, dealing with a diagnosis was the first step. It is my intention that this article and the accompanying audio helps anyone else who is facing a diagnosis get through the first few weeks.

Here is a whole bunch of stuff you can do and think and experience to help you - pick what feels right to you. The first thing to do is to try and reduce all the stress in your life as much as possible. You need to be calm, relaxed to cope with what is ahead of you.

How to cope?

First of all, know that as long as you are breathing, you are ok. Start from there. Breathe. Affirm you are alive and you are ok. Breathe.

Eat right. I saw a nutritionist very soon after my diagnosis. I already had a pretty good diet: I was a vegetarian and a runner, but knew that I wanted to do everything I could to promote healing. It also gave me some sort of control over the process as my life got taken over by medical appointments, test results, and treatments.

Eat plenty of fresh fruit and veggies. Eliminate anything that is a stressor on your system - reduce or eliminate alcohol, sugar, cigarettes, and caffeine. See a nutritionist or go to a health food store for which vitamins to take. Extra doses of Vitamin B, C, selenium, were all good for me. Make sure you consult a professional for the correct dosages.

Exercise. Keep your body moving gently as much as you are able with your surgery and treatments. Gentle stretching is good - keep connected to your body. Exercise helps the lymph system to operate, helps the lungs and heart to do their good jobs and pump out toxins. It also helps you connect with your body, to feel alive. Movement gives you energy as well.

Meditate. Before I was diagnosed with cancer, I always knew that meditation was supposed to be good for you, but I never did anything about it. Willing to give everything a go to promote my healing, I started meditating. This was such a blessing it helped me release a lot of emotional stress and I felt so calm and relaxed and peaceful afterwards. You can use relaxation tapes, or meditation cds, whether this is just nice music, or a guided visualisation, or just lying down and relaxing. The idea is to center yourself and calm yourself down - feel connected to the source of life energy that is in all of us, in all of the world around us.

Visualise. This was a great way to stay focussed. After surgery I could barely walk two steps, whereas the week before I had run 38km. This could have discouraged me, but instead I chose to focus on what I wanted my body to do for me. I imagined myself running again, feeling fit, free, and full of energy. This helped me get out of bed every day and shuffle a few more feet down the corridor. Even though my current body was not capable of much, in my minds eye I felt myself running and bounding about the hills, feeling full of life. Every day I got stronger, and every day I visualised my body the way I intended to be. Like I said, 7 months later I ran a marathon.

Read some good books. One of the first things I did was go to the bookstore. I wanted to educate myself about my disease and learn from people who had gone through similar experiences. I bought a ton of books on how to heal yourself, cancer journeys etc. The best ones I found were Lance Armstrong's "It's not about the bike", Brandon Bayss "The Journey", Louise Hays "You can heal your life", Paul Krauss "Living with cancer", Petrea Kings "Quest for Life", Petrea Kings, "Your Life Matters". Each of these had something different to teach me. Just go to the bookstore and go the health section or self-help section and buy the books that appeal to you.

Get a massage, often. Massage is another way to relax and helps the body to heal itself by moving fluid, lymph, and releasing stored emotional energy. You can also use another type of healing energy practitioner - maybe a kinesiologist, or cranial sacral therapist, or reiki practitioner. Find someone you trust and enjoy. The whole point is to feel good.

Use a Journal. There is so much that goes on in your head and heart with a cancer diagnosis. Some of it you may want to share, and a lot you probably do not. In any case, purging your head and heart of the all the thoughts that are going around and around and screaming at you inside your head allows you to release a lot of energy and turmoil. Write everything you feel and think down. The worst thing you can do is let it all run around in your head - this makes everything worse. Writing gives a relief and a release to your thoughts and emotions. Get them out - let them go.

Let people know what is going on. People who love you want to help. They really do. Tell them how to - to call you if you want to talk, to visit. Let their love in to your life - let them bring flowers, cookies, books - whatever - feel their love and appreciation of you. Be grateful for all of this.

Feel Gratitude. The moment I started to look around and appreciate what I saw and experienced, then my cancer journey started to change for me. It happened when I was going through chemotherapy. I had a lot of time at home on my own. I looked out the window every day and just watched the sunlight on the trees. Then the sky. Then the birds. And I started to feel grateful for seeing them, and having the time to appreciate them. Then I started to think about all the wonderful things that happened to me, all the beautiful people in my life, all the great adventures I had had. And I started to feel this amazing flood of good feelings. I started to realise that cancer had opened me up to all this wonderful good stuff that had been there all along, but I had not necessarily appreciated before. Then I started to feel grateful for all the things cancer was doing for me: it allowed me to slow down and take a time out for six months, it allowed me to really choose how I wanted to live going forward, it helped me clarify what was most important to me. I realised that it was a terrific gift. The process was arduous, and yet the gifts were golden.

Practice and feel grateful for the little and big things. Notice the beauty around you. Notice the sunlight on the trees. Be grateful for that. Find joy and delight in the life around you.

Stop doing anything that does not support you. Stop doing things that are 'shoulds' in your life. Do only what gives you pleasure and joy.

Watch funny movies. Laugh your guts out. Rent all the Leslie Neilson (Police Academy) etc you can handle. Laugh laugh laugh! Laughter actually produces some chemicals in your body that promote healing. It also feels really really good.

Get yourself a copy of the Secret DVD - available at www.wildlywealthy.com in Australia and at www.amazon.com elsewhere. This is a VERY powerful movie. There is a woman on it who healed herself of breast cancer through self-love.

I have a few articles on my website about my cancer journey. Read them if you feel so inspired. They are under the 'resources/free articles' section.

Don't give up your doctors. As you embrace the healing journey you are on, take their form of healing along with the spiritual side of things. All forms of healing have a place and can help you to return to health.

It is ok to be scared. It is ok to be sad. It is ok to be angry. Let yourself feel all of this and more - just let yourself feel. Let it pass through you and drain from you. It will leave you feeling purged and cleansed. Get in touch with who you really are - you are love and pure energy at the core. Feel that. Love that.

Cancer is not a death sentence - it is a call to live. It is a call for you to love yourself and to feel yourself healed from all your past wrongs, all your past regrets, all your past mistakes. Cancer gives you permission to let go of all the crap in your life and acknowledge all of the good things.

Cancer can be a gift for you, if you choose it to be so. Give yourself permission to take a break. Give yourself permission to slow right down, to pause, and to just simply be.

It is my sincere wish for you that you discover once more your joy, health, and love of life. I dont know what will happen on your journey; no one knows how long each of us has, with cancer or without. The most important thing is that we savour it. Remember, life is for living.

All good wishes for you,

Wayne Dyer - 20 Abundance & Prosperity Quotes

Dr. Wayne Dyer has been an inspiration for me for at least two decades now and below I wanted to share with you my favorite 20 quotes of his that relate to creating abundance and prosperity:

  1. "There is no scarcity of opportunity to make a living at what you love; there's only scarcity of resolve to make it happen."

  2. "Abundance is not something we acquire. It is something we tune into."

  3. "There is no way to prosperity, prosperity is the way."

  4. "Within you is the divine capacity to manifest and attract all that you need or desire."

  5. "We are Divine enough to ask and we are important enough to receive."

  6. "You are always a valuable, worthwhile human being, not because anybody says so, not because you're successful, not because you make a lot of money, but because you decide to believe it and for no other reason."

  7. "When I chased after money, I never had enough. When I got my life on purpose and focused on giving of myself and everything that arrived into my life, then I was prosperous."

  8. "The measure of your life will not be in what you accumulate, but in what you give away."

  9. "Successful people make money. It's not that people who make money become successful, but that successful people attract money. They bring success to what they do."

  10. "Self-worth comes from one thing -- thinking that you are worthy."

  11. "Prosperity in the form of wealth works exactly the same as everything else. You will see it coming into your life when you are unattached to needing it. "

  12. "Our intention creates our reality."

  13. "Love what you do."

  14. "Doing what you love is the cornerstone of having abundance in your life."

  15. "It's never crowded along the extra mile."

  16. "I will grow. I will become something new and grand, but no grander than I now am. Just as the sky will be different in a few hours, its present perfection and completeness is not deficient, so am I presently perfect and not deficient because I will be different tomorrow. I will grow and I am not deficient."

  17. "Heaven on Earth is a choice you must make, not a place we must find."

  18. "A non-doer is very often a critic-that is, someone who sits back and watches doers, and then waxes philosophically about how the doers are doing. It's easy to be a critic, but being a doer requires effort, risk, and change."

  19. "Anything that has been accomplished by any other human being in the physical realm is within the field of possibility."

  20. "Anything you really want, you can attain, if you really go after it."

All of the above excerpts are credited to Dr. Wayne Dyer.

Managing Product Catalogs And Price Books For Sales Reps And Agencies

Sales reps and agencies have a daunting task in needing to sell multiple product lines from multiple manufacturers. A big headache for these reps is managing all their different product catalogs from multiple manufacturers, including constant price and model changes. Some reps may even say it's the most tedious and difficult part of their job.

What if there was a more straightforward system to manage all this information? What would it look like, what should it be able to do and what benefits would it provide?

What would a sales catalog management system look like?

  • It would be a fully computer based product catalog system that could be effectively managed and automatically updated for price and model changes. With the ease of creating .pdf files of any printed material, virtually every bit of product information created can be converted to an electronic file and added to such a system
  • It would be online and available at all times
  • It would be under the complete control of the rep or sales agency
  • It would be completely secure, but updates would be easy to perform either manually or through data imports
What should it be able to do?
  • Provide item numbers and descriptions
  • Deliver different prices depending on the customer, the product or the quantity purchased.
  • Allow for viewing images of products
  • Have links to other information about products, such as information on a manufacturer's website
  • Information in the online catalog should be able to be updated automatically. Also, updating should be able to done to an individual item or on a mass basis by allowing for complete replacement of all data for a group of products.
  • Allow for the grouping of products into categories and sub-categories. Also, it should allow for products to be grouped into more than one category or sub-category.
  • Ideally, it would be linked to a sales quote to order management system
What would the benefits be?
  • The rep would have all products for all the companies he represents in one place
  • Errors would be reduced as updates to information would be managed much more efficiently and effectively. The following errors would be greatly reduced:
    • Basic pricing errors
    • Price breaks at specific quantities would be not be missed
    • Items on sale would be clearly visible and therefore, more easily promoted by the sales force
    • Obsolete or inactive Items would no longer appear in the online catalog
  • Dramatically less time spent juggling catalog information. Products would be easy to find.
  • It would be much easier for manufacturers and reps to have their product information match exactly

Software tools are available now (or soon will be) that can do all of these things. It will develop rapidly and it's because the technology to easily store data, link to data and simply leave information in an available area on the internet where others can find it, is so prevalent. All that is needed is an internet connection. Another big development is the rise in use of hosted software, where users can just rent specialty software on a monthly basis and use it right over the internet, instead of having to buy and maintain the software themselves. That is how I see this arena developing and it's going to lead to a dynamic and fast moving future as even the little guy will be able to have the same software horsepower as his much more established big company rivals. Smart tools are there for those who recognize their value. Becoming Rich in Your Own Way

If you really want to become rich, then begin by evaluating your work habits and work environment. That's how most millionaires made their first million. According to Dr. Srully Blotnick, a psychologist and consultant who spent 20 years studying how people became rich, most millionaires didn't make their money in real estate, the stock market , or waiting for their ship to come in.

They made theirs, instead, through their business or profession. They became so good at their job that they made quite a bit of money. Then, and only then, did they turn to real estate and stocks as sites to invest and grow their money. Even then, their basic business continued to produce the bulk of their gains; their investments usually produced only mediocre results by comparison.

There's a monumentally important lesson to be learned from the hundreds of millionaires that Dr. Blotnick studied for 20 years. The lesson is this: If you really want to become rich, invest in yourself first; invest in real estate, stocks, and other ventures later. Dr. Blotnick divided this into two stages:

The first takes place when you're consumed by a business or profession that you enjoy so much that you would do it for nothing.

After it pays you enough income, you enter the second stage. This is when you become a bona fide investor. You start thinking of and looking for opportunities to use your surplus income.

To set yourself and your career on track, evaluate yourself by answering these questions about:

<> liking your work:

How much do I really like my job?

Does my job bring out the best in me?

Has it caused me to do more than I ever thought I could do? If you answered any of these questions in the negative, consider a job or career change.

<> determining if your work is right for you:

How can I tell if I really like my work?

How do I know if I'm doing my work right?

How do I know if I'm doing the right kind of work?

The best way to determine that is to apply these test questions:

What would I do for free?

Am I enjoying my work so much that time seems to fly by?

How would I like the work to be done if I were on the receiving end?

What would I do if I didn't have to support myself, but did indeed want to work?

What work would I do if my doctor told me that I had only five years more to live?

<> considering my financial rewards:

Am I contended with my current income?

Am I in position to influence a change in my income?

What if the work I enjoy doing doesn't pay very well?

If you're satisfied with the first two, then I say, "Hang in there! You're on your way to becoming rich." People who became rich did so because they persisted. Only a personal involvement with what you enjoy doing will produce the kind of persistence that propels you out of bed in the mornings and makes you willing to work long and hard.

<> investing in yourself:

Am I developing my skills, talents, and abilities?

Have I made a plan that will help me to develop them?

Am I constantly improving my relationship with others?

Do I ask my co-workers for feedback about my performance?

Investing in yourself means developing both of these aspects: the technical knowledge you need in order to do your work effectively and the human relations skills you need in order to work effectively with others. Mr. Joseph Brooks, CEO at Lord & Taylor, once said, "If you love your work, and do it well, someone will spot that ... Let the quality of your work do it for you."

Conclusion: To become rich, do it your own way. Rely on your own talents, skills, and abilities. Invest them in a business or profession that you enjoy doing very much. Invest in your personal growth and development. Become the very best at what you do at your work even if it pays you little right now. If you really like what you are doing, eventually a fat salary will catch up with your reputation. The bottomline is persistence. Become an expert at relating well with others.

Remember: When you maximize your potential, everyone wins. When you don't, we all lose.

Don't Knock The Competition!

Fifty-five years ago, when I was 17, living in Miami Beach, Florida, my brother-in-law and I represented a manufacturer of wrought iron TV tables, (Stands) from St. Louis.

Just in case you might not know, when TV was in its infancy, many people bought what was referred to as Table model or portable TV sets. The largest screen at that time may have been 16 diagonal. The decisive factor for the innovative Portable TV sets was they had a handle. Despite the fact they probably weighed 45 or more pounds, you could carry it from one room to another. This was way before anybody dreamed of having more than one set.

These first models were very popular because they were the least expensive. But most buyers had no place to put them. This generated a great demand for TV tables upon which to put the TV. Some were wood but most were made of wrought iron, painted flat black. They came in a flat carton KD; knocked down. That is you would assemble them at home. They had adjustable side arms and some came with wheels and were heavier metal, with other refinements, such as brass plated.

We went to sell them to a TV store in North Miami that I heard was using a lot of tables. When we got there we noticed quite a few on display. When the owner of the store came out to see what we had, we opened our catalogue and showed him all the various models available.

Then we compared the tables on his showroom floor to ours and told him how inferior his were. From the paint to the sturdiness, size of the tubing, wheels and so on. 2 When we were finished bashing, he said, These are your tables! I bought them direct, before you became the representatives for the factory!

Well! There wasnt any hole big enough for me to crawl into and I had to just stand there, completely admonished, ashamed and totally embarrassed. What a horrible situation. I felt so stupid!

As it turned out, the owner was a very nice man and the uncle of one of my teachers. So he forgave us and even placed a reorder. Later that night I told my father what had happened. And he said next time instead of knocking the competition

Is One Ready To Be A Millionaire?

Everyone wants to be a millionaire but the big question is: Are they ready? Of course one may ask: What do you mean if they are ready? Anyone would be ready to be a millionaire! We all tend to think in that manner that we are a millionaire when we have that the million dollars but the true and sad fact is that if one does not have the millionaire mindset, he or she will lose all the money eventually. Have you seen someone who has strike a lottery and in the end turn out to be even more broke before he strike the lottery? Have you seen any of the celebrities that were rich once and are now broke?

People may wonder why is this post appearing on an internet marketing blog? It was a moderator in a forum was suggesting to me to set up 2 different blogs talking about internet marketing and personal development separately. The initial drawback of having 2 blogs was a lazy attitude. But, personal development and internet marketing is in a way very much inter related. The purpose of most people that are reading this article is to learn how to be better, make some extra money or even for some, aiming to be a millionaire! If the personal development has not reached to a certain stage to preserve the money, he or she will blow it all away eventually.

Why are we behaving in a manner where we wants to blow all our money away? Could it be that it has something to do with our childhood programming? In the young days, when we were asked to save money, it will mean no candy for us. Since we were programmed that saving means no candy for us, we bring that state of mind into adulthood and in turn saving means sacrifice. Now, if we do not engage in personal development to tweak our state of mind and start learning how to save, we will never achieve the millionaire status ultimately. George Clasons book The Richest Man in Babylon says: A part of what I earn is mine to keep and that is actually teaching people to start paying themselves first or saving first.

I clearly remember what Jim Rohn says as well: Set to be a millionaire not for just the money but what you will become in the process of becoming a millionaire. I will be attending T. Harv Ekers Millionaire Mind Intensive seminar in November to change my financial blueprint with the aim to be a Millionaire.

Lets all go do it and aim to be a MILLIONAIRE!

I Believe In You! I Know You Can Do It Too!

Yours Believingly

Law of Attraction For Network Marketing

The Law of Attraction can work wonders in your personal and professional life. It can be especially effective in your network marketing efforts. Many people can readily see how the Law of Attraction can work for them on a personal level, strengthening their relationships and driving their success, but few take the time to see how it can actually influence their business practices and make their business take off. It does not just affect the goal, but also the path that is required to achieve the goal.

First, you should know just what the Law of Attraction is. It is a concept that is based on the premise that "like attracts like." In other words, if you think positive, positive things will happen to you. When you are generating positive thoughts and attitudes, you are exuding a positive vibration and the universe responds to that. When you visualize and focus on what you want to achieve, you further strengthen your power through the Law of Attraction. You can make the things that you want from life happen for you when you maintain the positive attitudes and visualize what you want. When you apply this to network marketing, your success can take off.

The first thing that you need to do in order to begin using the Law of Attraction in your network marketing is to attain the positive attitude and outlook. When you think in a positive way, positivity will be drawn to you. Your positive attitude will, in turn, shape your actions and those actions will transfer to excitement and passion for what you do. This will be noticed by your customers. It is no secret that when you feel passionate and excited about your business or product, your customers will pick up on that excitement. When your customers are excited about your business, they will start spending money; they will invest in your company, product or service.

The next step in making the Law of Attraction work for your Network Marketing business is to set goals and visualize the desired outcome. If you want to set a sales goal, make is specific, then visualize it. Visualize and focus on what you want to achieve. Write it down or get some other type of visual aid and put it in a place where it is highly visible by you. Creating a Vision Board is a good idea. Look at it often and let it inspire you. Visualize and focus your thought on your goal. This will send out the positive vibrations to achieve your goal and you are on your way to success. Set a goal for a certain amount of traffic (for online business), or number of prospects (for offline business) that you target to have in a specified amount of time, or set a goal for getting a certain amount of conversions in a month. Then use the Law of Attraction to make it happen.

You can use the Law of Attraction to make your Network Marketing highly effective for you. You can't touch the Law of Attraction, you can't taste it or smell it or hear it, but it can be the most powerful tool that you have for your successful Network Marketing.

Clarity

Before you begin a thing, remind yourself that difficulties and delays quite impossible to foresee are ahead. You can only see one thing clearly and that is your goal. Form a mental vision of that and cling to it through thick and thin. (Kathleen Norris)

If we are ever in doubt about what to do, it is a good rule to ask ourselves what we shall wish on the morrow that we had done. (John Lubbock)

The reason most people never reach their goals is that they don't define them, or ever seriously consider them as believable or achievable. Winners can tell you where they are going, what they plan to do along the way, and who will be sharing the adventure with them. (Denis Waitley)

We can be our own worst enemy at times. How often can you see that it was you who actually got in your own way on the path to fulfilling a goal?

It was usually only a thought that got in the way! Something that you made up...so, you could make up something else. A replacement thought that empowers you.

Write down as many of the discouraging thoughts that you can recall, from those times you actually stopped yourself. Alongside each of these, record a replacement thought that really gives you some power.

What could you put in place so that you remember to replace your negative thoughts with an empowering thought? An automatic pop up on your computer screen? A colourful card sitting up on your desk or pasted to the front of your diary?

Most days we say some horrid things to ourselves and we aren't even conscious that the tape is playing!

Consider also, the people with whom you surround yourself. Are there people with whom you could spend more time? Are there people with whom you could spend less time?

Lastly, when exploring your 2004 New Year resolutions - here are a few pointers to send you on your way:

Are your intented outcomes crystal clear to you and do you have them somewhere on display for yourself - in words or images? Do you have powerful reasons for wanting to accomplishing your chosen goals?

Make a practice of writing down your 6 top priority goals, daily. It is worth those extra 5 minutes each day - recreating your desire for reaching that next stepping stone.

Are your New Year resolutions feasible? Are the deadlines too tight? Could your goals be broken down into bite sized chunks (i.e. milestones along the way). You may easily become discouraged if your goals seems impossible to achieve. This can chip away at your confidence in going after what you want. A strong belief in your goals is mandatory.

Have you put something in place to really celebrate each milestone victory, great or small? This will expand your personal confidence. Reward the source of your results.

Important Life Lessons

One important discovery I made some years back, is that life is a school where we need to learn so many lessons. All our daily happenings are full of lessons that we need to imbibe. I realized that there are so many important lessons to learn from life but unfortunately, there are few people willing to learn these lessons.

Thos who learnt these important lessons are those finding it easy in their daily living. They have passed through so many experiences and have learnt a lot. The majorities that are unwilling to learn these lessons are those who are struggling in every facet of their lives and seem to see life as being unfair to them.

In my own life, there was a point at which things were not that easy at all. I was going through so many harrowing experiences, but it was a thing of joy to me because I know there are lessons to be learnt from those experiences. After passing through these experiences, I discovered so many important life lessons and I have been sharing them every where i go to.

If there is one lessons I want you to have close to your heart, every day of your life, it is IT PAYS TO HAVE A DREAM! Life is not worth living without a dream. With a dream, there is no limit to where you can get to or what you can achieve in life.

it is so unfortunate that so many people live their lives without a dreams. These people do not even realize they are short-changing themselves by not having something to live for. A life without a dream is a meaningless one nobody should live.

When I discovered this wonderful lesson, my life experienced a drastic change. May be I need to tell you this, before I became a dreamer, I used to be a despondent person. The person I was then, wan an uninteresting person, I wasn't even sure what the future holds for me. When I became a creative dreamer, I became a new person.

I had dreams on several areas of my life and I couldn't just believe how things are just happening in my life up till this moment. I had numerous dream books then and I stumbled on one just yesterday. While going through it, I was just beaming with smiles because most of all the dreams have come to pass.

This world is replete with dreamers and they are the people making so much impact in our world today. In every field of human endeavor, there are so many people that started with nothing but a dream. Their dreams took them to where they couldn't have ever imagined.

Dear reader, I want to let you know that your life is not complete without a dream. Waking up and doing the same routine over and over again for your entire life is not something you should experience. A dream you conceive today can take you to places you can't even envisage today.

The greatest favour you can do yourself is to live for a dream and a big one for that matter. I have learnt that it is always good to dream BIG because there is actually no excitement in small dreams. Others may live their lives without a dream, but that should not be your case.

Let me round up by telling you this; if you are ever going to dream, make sure it is REALLY, REALLY BIG!

You can visit my website, www.the-lessons-of-life.com, for other important life lessons.

You will succeed.

Life and Peace

Proverbs 3:1 My son, do not forget my law, but let your heart keep my commands; 2. for length of days and long life and peace they will add to you.

Malachi 2:5 "My covenant was with him, one of life and peace, and I gave them to him that he might fear Me; so he feared Me and was reverent before My name.

Romans 8:6 For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

Gods covenant is an unbreakable covenant that was established so that His creation could once again have life and peace.

When Adam fell and became separated from God, he lost both Gods life and His peace.

Genesis 3:3 "but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God has said, `You shall not eat it, nor shall you touch it, lest you die.' ''

Spiritual death is not a cessation of being, but separation from the life of God. Adam and Eve continued to exist, they did not physically die that day. Death was working in them, and it took nearly 1000 years for it to kill them. You either have the life of God or you dont, there is no middle ground in this.

Romans 5:14 Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over those who had not sinned according to the likeness of the transgression of Adam, who is a type of Him who was to come.

To say death reigned simply means death dominated man. He could not escape it. God wants His creation to have His life. He went to great lengths to establish a covenant that could bring man back to the place where he could again have His life. This means that man would once again have Gods life, and because he had Gods life he would have the authority to walk in it in such a way as death could no longer have dominion over him. In other words, he not only had Gods life infused into his very being, but he could walk in total victory over the very thing that had the power to destroy him. Death no longer dominates or has power over us.

Life and peace work together in order bring about Gods desired result. That result is for us to walk in dominion over the things that once dominated us. If you dont have His life you can not have his peace. The fear of death will dominate you. You can not have the peace of God until you partake of the free gift of life which comes by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Hebrews 2:14 Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, 15. and release those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.

The power of death has been destroyed. We have been granted this life, and released from the dominion of sin, and the end result of that sin, being spiritual death.

My question is, are we as Gods children enjoying the life God has given to us. I have come to believe that in order for us to walk in the benefits of Gods great redemption, we have to also walk in peace. They go together. If we are not walking in peace, we truly are not partakers of the benefits of the life God has given to us. What good is this great redemption and the wonderful benefits that come with it, if we are not partakers of it? God went to great lengths to reunite us. He wants us to partake of His free gift, and enjoy the benefits of being His children.

-- Living Bible
1 Timothy 6:17 Tell those who are rich not to be proud and not to trust in their money, which will soon be gone, but their pride and trust should be in the living God who always richly gives us all we need for our enjoyment.

This would come as a shock to many Christians, but God wants us to enjoy His blessings. Many Christians have the mindset that we are supposed to go through life torn and tattered, barely getting along. This does not sound like being richly blessed and enjoying life to me. Jesus said

John 10:10 "The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

The word abundant means - (in the sense of beyond); superabundant (in quantity) or superior (in quality); by implication, excessive; preeminence:

The Amplified says it like this 10. The thief comes only to in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).

Jesus Himself said this. I trust Him to mean what He says, dont you?

Abundance is to have everything you need and then some. More abundant is more than that. Thats hard to comprehend, but as the Amplified translation says; till it overflows. Thats the kind of life God wants us to have. He wants His life to fill us up so completely and totally that it just overflows from us and blesses everyone else around us. Glory. What an awesome God. As I so often say, we have a part to play in this. Lets reread one of our opening Scriptures

Romans 8:6 For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

Carnal means natural. Natural doesnt sound bad, but natural or carnal is earthly where spiritual mindedness is to think on the things of God. We are being told to do this. This is not something God can do for us. We have to make the choice to think Godly thoughts or Earthly thoughts. When the natural contradicts the things of God, we have to make a choice. Peace can only come when we make the correct choice. When we are in turmoil, we can not partake of the life of God. Peace and fear just do not coexist. We are told how to deal with this situation.

I have seen this over and over. It is a lesson I had to learn and I endeavor to teach others. Gods Word says to cast your care upon Him because He cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7 casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.

A simple adjustment can put you on the road to victory. I didnt say it would always be easy, especially if you have a habit of thinking negatively. Habits have to be changed.

When we are full of anxiety and care, we are not walking in faith and trusting God. This is one of the biggest indicators. Its sort of like the canary in the mine shaft. If we have no peace, it is an indicator that we are not walking in faith. When you truly trust God, you are not going to be worried and full of fear.

There is good news, this is a condition that can be changed. Do as the Word of God says and become spiritually minded. The spiritually minded Christian is not going to be full of fear and anxiety because he or she is not thinking on those things that allow fear and anxiety grow and be present. We know this because spiritually minded Christians have life and peace. If not, you are not spiritually minded. This may sound hard, and it is not meant to condemn, but to correct. We all have to make the necessary adjustments and do as the Word of God says, or we will continue to do the same things, and have the same results. The results can be changed. Some have a hard time believing this can actually happen. They have been living this way so long that they dont think anything about it, it seems like the normal way to be. God wants us to have a way of life and peace.

We need to continually monitor or judge ourselves and check up on ourselves. We have to ask ourselves this question, do I have peace? If the answer is no, then check on up on your thoughts. If your thoughts are constantly on the problem, then you have created a breading ground for fear and anxiety, and a place where depression can set up a stronghold. Begin the process of renewing your mind with the Word of God. We can replace our negative thoughts with thoughts that will be breading grounds for Gods life to work in us. You will gain more and more confidence as you begin to put these principles into practice. We have everything to gain and absolutely nothing to loose. I really like what the Apostle Paul said to the Philippian church at by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit

Philippians 4:6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7. and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. 8. Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy meditate on these things.

God wants us to succeed, and has given us the instructions on how to do it. Lets take His instructions to heart and begin to allow Gods peace to keep us, and the end result will be life.

I was raised Catholic, and was born again at the age of 17. I received God's call into ministry at the age of 19 and began to prepare for ministry. I graduated from Rhema Bible Training Center in 1979. The Lord has called me to teach. My desire is to help all that are seeking to come into a deeper understanding of what God has done for us through Christ Jesus and I have started a web site for this purpose called The Olive Branch; Please visit us for more free studies and resources to help you on your journey.
